Iron Sleet Invitational

Hello!

So when i saw Iron Sleet had opened up their Invitational to the public I jumped at the chance to finish up some models I've being doing for my little Atlas Infernal Project.

~

A small contingent of Savlar Chem Dogs has been dispatched to the Thorn Moons, Sent as an alternative to the standard death penalty in the Savlar Prison complexes, the men of the 010 more commonly known as the X Squad were thought to be completely Ill equipped for the campaign ahead.

Initial reports from the battle field seem to suggest that not only have the Chem Dogs survived the preliminary strikes and hostile LZ's but have excelled, Their predisposition for stealing and scavenging gear and constructing breathing apparatus to inhale their various home made narcotics has given them the upper hand in the hostile environments.

The rate of reports from various other regiments complaining of lost or stolen gear has increased dramatically since the chem dogs made planet fall, little to no evidence can be linked to the two...

I have an Epiphani...

Hello!

So among other things (Necromunda!!!!!!) I've been working on the last member of the Atlas Infernal Gang, Epiphani Mallerstang.

No surprise that due to GW's lack of female heads i'm having trouble finding a suitable one for Epiphani, Hopefully that will change with the arrival of Necromunda and the new house Escher models.

Any suggestions in the mean time?

The whole gang is here...nearly

Hello!

Wow have i been busy lately, with work and learning to drive (again) I've had very little energy at the end of the day to build and paint, But that doesn't mean I've just been sat around dong nothing.

The Atlas Infernal gang has grown by quite a bit. First up is an Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos, former acolyte and close friend of Czevak, Raimus Klute.

I Imagined him stepping out of the Lost Fornical onto a strange planet and remembering he hadn't loaded his trusty shotgun.

The Shotgun itself comes from the genestealer cultist kit but with a few modifications, first of all the shotgun barrel was trimmed down to resemble more of a sawn off, as the shotgun is described in the book as a "lever action close combat shotgun with a cut down pistol grip"

I then carefully cut the barrel from the stock, once this was done i made a bracket from a thin bit of brass so that the shotgun could actually open at the breech.

Then it was just a case of finding an appropriate hand and arm to give him the impression he is casually sliding a "thrice blessed silver scattershot shell embedded in a slug of saint Vesta's salts" (wow that's a mouth full...) into the breech.

Next up we have Hessian the Daemonhost.

The daemon is imprisoned in the body of a handsome youth who was previously a vassal (and boy-lover) of Epiphani's father.

Next is Saul Torqhuil.

Techmarine of the now Excommunicate Traitoris space marine Chapter the Relictors.

My first attempt at a true scale marine before the Primaris Marines made their debut.

Had a crack at making my own servos arms for the back pack, certainly not perfect but they do the trick.

He's described as having onyx skin but i never really liked the idea, so I painted his face a lightish brown and washed it several times with Agrax Earthshade until I got a suitably deep shade of brown.

I genuinely lost track of the various conversion work done on the model, the shoulder pads are originally terminator pads but with the edges evened out and a thin strip of plasticard added to create the trim. The power axe blade is made from a brass cog cut in half and stuck to either side of a half circle of plasticard, Just to name a few things.

And finally The servo skull "Father"

Father is a Servoskull drone constructed around the skull of Epiphani's father. Father maintains a mind-link with her, and its bionic eyes act as her realsight conduit. Father has a vellum-scroll printer installed in its mouth, and some Cogitator ability.

Nothing special, just a skull and some mechanicus bits with a thin strip of brass to act as a roll of vellum.

So there you have it, all of the gang is here apart from Epiphani. I'm currently trying to find the right bits to really show off her strange ability to dress for an occasion which hasn't happened yet.

In the mean time I've also been busy converting up a small squad of Savlar Chem Dogs to do the dirty work for Czevak and Klute. A lot of the warband are essentially non combatants or are not really combat centric so a few more guns were needed, pictures to follow very soon!

Atlas Infernal

Hello!

If I'm honest I was dreading painting Czveak, i'd spend so long making sure the pose was to my liking and all the little components looked just right, that if I painted him I'd some how ruin the model and would have to start from scratch.

Having never tried to paint that much free hand detail before, namely the harlequin coat (which was so much fun!) I was very pleased with the outcome.

Using the above as reference for what should be painted what, I finished with the below.

I'm really pleased with the little details like the small =][= on his forehead.

No gold paint was used :D, the Atlas Infernal was covered in gold leaf, washed with Agrax Earthshade (I love the stuff) then the banding was picked out with a very old but still good pot of Chainmail silver.

Probably my favourite angle of the model,  you really get to see the diamond pattern and the holofield effect of the harlequin coat.

So there you have it, my interpretation on the great Inquisitior Czevak Bronislaw

~

Oh I've also built and nearly finished a friend of Czevak's...

Two posts in one day and more blurry photos!!!

Hello!

So here's a quick little post for one of my current WIP, he's possibly one of my favourite characters in the 40k Universe, Hopefully I can do the old man justice.

Inquisitor Bronislaw Czevak
His "Borrowed" Harlequin coat
The Atlas Infernal

I have some very cool plans on how to paint him, just have the rest of the gang to put together first...

This could be very interesting...

I'm watching you Shadow War O_o

The Eye opens, Cadia burns and old warriors begin to stir...

Due to an Administratum error the records of an entire imperial guard regiment on their way to the Eye of Terror were lost, having no form of identification they were immediately set upon by Imperial forces the moment they dropped out of warp close to Holy Terra.

Those that escaped the chaos in orbit attempted to make landfall. Few survived.

But those that did bore no ill will, for the very day they stepped foot on Terra a legend greeted them and revealed to them the truth.

They came to call him "Thunder Child" and re-named themselves "The Lost Boys".

Sigismunds Heirs

 Hello!

So before I start posting all the the various little projects I've got going, I'd like to show you a few (bad) photos of one of my favourite space marine chapters and the art work that inspired me.
John Blanche - Black Templars
It was when I received the 3rd Edition box set of Warhammer 40k that my "little hobby" really started to pick up speed.  I immediately fell in love with the box art, which of course I would soon learn the illustrious name, John Blanche.

But enough of me flapping on about how I got into the hobby, here are a few models inspired by that amazing piece of artwork.
They all still need basing properly but other shiny things have distracted me.

More to come!

It's alive, ALIVE!

Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3, is this thing on?

Hello!

Hopefully this will become home to all of my silly little ideas and musing that will evetually turn into models...eventually.  I am unfortunately very slow when it comes to painting, but i have been told i'm rather good, but i'll let you be the judge.

I will try to post an update at least once a month just to keep any one that's reading informed of my projects.

Until then see you on the other side!
